JACKZER

The gear I actually use.
PC, desk, audio, SIMAGIC, the lot.

Not a wishlist. All the gear I use: the PC I edit and race on, the desk I stream from and the boxes underneath it, with an Amazon link for each piece so you don't have to go hunting. The simracing hardware has its own pages: Sim-Lab for the rig, SIMAGIC for the wheel and pedals.

Buying through the links here sends a small commission back to the channel at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

The PC

What I edit and race on.

This is the PC I do all my simracing and editing on. I do have a second, watered-down version of this PC exclusively for streaming and broadcasting, but these are my main build's current specs.

GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 Master 16G

Graphics card

GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 Master 16G

16GB of GDDR7. Enough headroom for a 5K2K editing screen and for racing at high refresh without thinking about settings.

Mine is the black Master. Amazon US only lists the Master ICE, which is the same card in white.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Processor

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Sixteen cores with the 3D V-Cache. Sims love the cache, editing loves the cores, so one chip covers both jobs.

Corsair Vengeance DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz

Memory

Corsair Vengeance DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz

64GB so the editor, OBS and a sim can all be open at once. No RGB, on purpose.

Second drive

Samsung 870 EVO 4TB SATA SSD

4TB of SATA storage for everything that doesn't need NVMe speed. Cheap per terabyte and silent.

ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 420

CPU cooler

ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 420

A 420mm AIO on a 9950X3D is overkill on paper. In practice it's quiet, and quiet matters when the mic is a foot away.

Corsair RM1200e (2023) 1200W ATX 3.1

Power supply

Corsair RM1200e (2023) 1200W ATX 3.1

1200W, ATX 3.1, with the native 12V-2x6 cable for the 5080. Fully modular, which is how the cable section further down was possible.

MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WiFi

X870E on AM5, with enough M.2 slots that I won't need to think about it for a while.

Monitors

One at the desk, three on the rig.

For editing I like having just one monitor, it keeps me focused. The rig is a different job, so that gets the triples. How I set those up is in the triples guides.

LG UltraFine evo 40 (40U990A-W)

The desk monitor

LG UltraFine evo 40 (40U990A-W)

40 inches, 5K2K, curved. Makes the most sense for me at the desk: one screen, everything on it, nothing pulling my eye sideways.

32 inch curved 1440p 180Hzx3

The rig screens

32 inch curved 1440p 180Hz

1440p at 180Hz on a curve. Three of these on the rig, in a triple.

Mine is the Gigabyte GS32QCA, which Amazon US doesn't list. This links to the LG 32GS60QC-B, the same size, resolution and refresh rate.

Stream control

Three Stream Decks.

Yes, three. I've collected them over the years and, to be honest, they're just extremely handy to have. The versatility is what makes them so attractive: scenes, lights, audio and macros all end up on a physical button.

Elgato Stream Deck MK.2

The small one

Elgato Stream Deck MK.2

Fifteen keys for the scene changes and macros I hit most. Sits right beside the keyboard.

Elgato Stream Deck XL

The big one

Elgato Stream Deck XL

Thirty-two keys. Once you run out of buttons on the MK.2, this is where the rest of them go.

Elgato Stream Deck +

The one with dials

Elgato Stream Deck +

Audio levels on physical knobs instead of alt-tabbing into a mixer mid-stream. The touch strip shows what each dial is doing.

Audio

What you hear on the channel.

The SM7B into the RODECaster is the chain. The headsets cover racing and streaming, one on XLR and one on USB.

RODE RODECaster Duo

Interface and mixer

RODE RODECaster Duo

Interface, mixer and preamp in one box. Drives the SM7B on its own, no extra gain box needed.

Same headset with a USB adapter in the box, so it works on anything without an interface in the chain.

Aokeo AK-48 boom arm with riser

Mic arm

Aokeo AK-48 boom arm with riser

Low-profile boom arm with a riser, so the SM7B sits where I want it and the cable runs inside the arm.

Cable

XLR cable, 3m, 2 pack

Three metres of braided, shielded XLR from the arm to the RODECaster. Two in the pack, so there's a spare.

Lighting

The lights, and the box that runs them.

Hue for the room and the background, Elgato for my face. All of it changes from a Stream Deck key.

Philips Hue Play Light Bar (2 pack)

Background colour

Philips Hue Play Light Bar (2 pack)

The colour behind the desk on camera. Two bars, both on the bridge, both changed from the Stream Deck.

Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance bulb

One colour bulb for the room light, so the whole space matches the bars instead of fighting them.

The box the bars and bulb talk to. Nothing above works without it, so it's on the list.

Cable management

The boring bit that makes it look tidy.

Sleeving, clips and a decent power strip. None of it is exciting and all of it is why you don't see a nest of cables behind me.

Alien Pros Light Tac tennis overgrips, the grips JACKZER wraps every steering wheel in

Wheel essential

Alien Pros Light Tac tennis overgrips

Tennis overgrips, wrapped around a steering wheel. Every wheel I own gets these. They're cheap, they're grippy, and they soak up sweat over a long stint. The one accessory I'd buy before anything else on this page.

Wrap them like a tennis grip, overlap by about a third, tape the end. Ten minutes a wheel, and they swap out the moment they go shiny.
